Grants and Scholarships

The Arkansas Flower & Garden Show funds scholarships for full-time students who are attending a university or community college in Arkansas and majoring in horticulture or a related field.

The Arkansas Flower & Garden Show is dedicated to improving the lives of Arkansans by providing funding for community beautification projects through the Greening of Arkansas grant program (below).


GREENING of ARKANSAS GRANTS

Visitors take notes as they tour the Legacy Garden, a water conservation and butterfly habitat demonstration garden in Conway, which was created and maintained by the Faulkner County Master Gardeners with help from a Greening of Arkansas grant in 2011.

 The Arkansas Flower & Garden Show is dedicated to improving the lives of Arkansans by providing funding for community beautification projects.

The Arkansas Flower & Garden Show is dedicated to improving the lives of Arkansans by providing funding for community beautification projects through the Greening of Arkansas grant program.

  • The Greening of Arkansas grant program was started in 2006 and is funded by proceeds from the annual Arkansas Flower and Garden Show.
  • More than $150,000 has been given to communities to beautify public areas such as parks, community entrances, and schools.
  • Grants are awarded to non-profit and civic groups for beautification projects on public land.
  • Grant amounts are up to $2500, and 60% of the funds must be used for plant material (trees, shrubs, and flowers.)

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Arkansas Flower & Garden Show funds scholarships for full-time students who are attending a university or community college in Arkansas and majoring in horticulture or a related field.

The Arkansas Flower & Garden Show is dedicated to supporting the next generation of horticultural professionals in the state.  Multiple $1500 scholarships are available.

  • The Show has given over $60,000 in scholarships in the last ten years.
  • Scholarship applications are available in the spring with a mid-summer deadline for submission.
  • Applicants are required to fill out a brief questionnaire and write a personal letter about their background, career interests, and personal commitment to their chosen horticulture-related field.
  • Three letters of recommendation should also accompany the application with at least one from a current professor.
  • Scholarship awards are given at the start of the fall semester.
